HISTORICAL ANALYSIS OF ASPECTS OF ISLAMIC ECONOMIC THOUGHT IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF ABU UBAYD

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze Abu Ubaid's Economic Thoughts as contained in his monumental work, Kitab al-Amwal. Where Abu Ubaid explained economic philosophy through several main points, namely first, the main principle of economic philosophy is the concept of justice. Second, the concept of justice is a balance between individual, community and state rights. Third, the implementation of the concept of justice will certainly lead to the attainment of economic prosperity and harmony in the social life order of society. The qualitative research method used is the library research method with content analysis. The primary data source was taken from three sources from Abu Ubayd's book entitled The Philosophy of Legal Justice in the Economy and Thoughts on the Needs and Uses of Money. Secondary data sources are Islamic scientific journals, quotations from the book of Abu Ubayd, Islamic economic theories and theses and dissertations. The results of the study indicate that the emergence of a concept of the state's economic life order. One of them has been implemented in Indonesia as a sovereign country through the details of the paragraphs of the 1945 Constitution as the highest source of law. That the basis of this thinking has not been able to achieve what the state aspires to, namely realizing social justice for all Indonesian people. All of this becomes our homework together on how to maximize all the potential that exists, both related to the management of zakat, the development of the Islamic economy through the use of money as a medium of exchange and through the spirit of a philosophical foundation as the main foundation for achieving the country's goals in the context of maximum economic growth accompanied by achievement of social welfare.
